Marks & Clerk achieves Cyber Essentials Plus certification

Marks & Clerk’s UK offices have successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification, marking our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity. Cyber Essentials Plus is a UK Government-backed certification scheme that builds upon Cyber Essentials, requiring organisations to demonstrate operational security against common cyber-attacks through a more rigorous, independent technical audit of their IT systems.

Cyber Essentials helps organisations stay safe by ensuring five technical controls are in place:

  • Secure configuration: Set up computers securely to minimise ways that a cyber-criminal can find a way in
  • User access control: Control who can access our data and services and what level of access they have
  • Malware protection: Identify and immobilise viruses or other malicious software before it has a chance to cause harm
  • Security update management: Prevent cyber criminals using vulnerabilities they find in software as an access point to our systems
  • Firewalls: Create a security filter between the internet and our network

Cyber Essentials Plus is more rigorous. It includes vulnerability scans and on-site assessments conducted by external experts to verify security controls.

By securing Cyber Essentials Plus, we ensure that our systems, processes, and data handling practices meet stringent security requirements, providing our clients with confidence and peace of mind.
